Destiny (@flexboy121): “Let‘s see what the future holds for me!”

Young Nigerian rapper Destiny dropped his debut EP “Mixing Flavours” a few months ago. He told us more about his idols and his motivation in our interview.

Thanks for having you Destiny, tell us what you do?

My name is Destiny, also known as Flexboy, and I‘m 17 years old. My goal is to “fresh up” Luxembourg with my songs and to spread positive vibes with my music. Besides writing songs and going to the studio a lot, I‘m also part of the handball youth national team.

What is your background?

I‘m of Nigerian descent and was raised here in Luxembourg. I‘m currently going to the LTB, being in a commerce class.

I used to go to church with my family on weekends, as my family is very religious and it has always been a tradition. If you‘re ever going to be at a Nigerian family event, you have to taste the best rice in the world which is Jellof Rice and Fried Rice!

My family and my best friend Hugo always supported me and motivated me to keep going.

Who are your idols?

When I was younger, I used to sing and dance a lot and I wanted people to see my talent. I started to sing/rap because of the duo “LMFAO”. My idols at the moment are Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch and YBN Almighty Jay.

What are your recent projects?

My recent projects are of course the creation of my YouTube channel “Destiny Flexboy” where I published 7 songs of my new EP “Mixing Flavours”. If you listen to my songs you will notice that not every song has the same rhythm and vibe. I tried to mix up the sound and tried to rap in different styles (especially Afro-style rap) to show that trying different styles on an EP is actually possible. That‘s why it is called “Mixing Flavours”.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

I can‘t really tell by now. I can‘t give a proper answer to that as I am a person which is curious about what the future holds for me, so I don‘t really see into the future. I always had (and still do have) to spend a lot of money in order to pay for studio time and video clips.
